TrulyFreePDF is a set of browser-based document tools. The short version: the files you open are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. This policy explains that in detail and covers the limited information the website itself involves.
Every tool on TrulyFreePDF runs entirely inside your web browser. When you open a PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, or image file, it is read and processed on your own device using code that runs locally in the browser tab.
Your files are never uploaded to a server, transmitted to us or to any third party, stored by us, or seen by us. There is no upload step, so there is nothing on our side to leak, retain, or hand over. When you close or reload the tab, the file is gone from memory unless you saved a session (see below).
So you can resume after an accidental refresh, the app can save your current document and edits in your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) on your device. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted, and is only read back by the app on the same device and browser.
You can remove it at any time by choosing “Start fresh” when prompted, or by clearing site data for trulyfreepdf.com in your browser settings.
We do not ask you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, or the contents of your files. If you choose to email us, we receive whatever you put in that message and use it only to reply.
Like virtually all websites, the pages of TrulyFreePDF are delivered by a hosting provider that keeps standard access logs — such as IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. These logs relate to page requests only; they never include your files, because your files are never sent to a server.
To keep the tools free, we may display advertising through Google AdSense. When active, AdSense may set cookies and use identifiers to serve and measure ads, subject to Google’s own policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Advertising is currently disabled: no ad scripts are loaded and no ad cookies are set unless and until we enable it, at which point this policy will reflect that. You can control ad personalization at any time in your Google Ad Settings.
We do not currently use third-party analytics or tracking. The app uses local browser storage (described above) for the session feature; that is device-local, not a tracking cookie. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in future, we will describe it here first.
TrulyFreePDF is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because your files are processed on your device and we do not maintain user accounts, we hold very little information about you. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the ad-network behavior described above when advertising is enabled.
If you are a California resident (or covered by a similar U.S. state privacy law) and want to exercise a privacy right, contact us at contact@trulyfreepdf.com and we will respond as required by law.
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
