Convert Image to ICO, free in your browser
Create a multi-size ICO favicon from a JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Select the icon sizes to include; conversion runs in your browser and leaves the original unchanged.
How to convert an image to an ICO favicon
- Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP image.
- Keep the common icon sizes selected or choose a custom set from 16 to 256 pixels.
- Create and download the multi-size favicon.ico file.
Limits & good to know
- JPG, PNG, and WebP images up to 50 MB and 50 megapixels are supported. Animated WebP uses its first frame.
- The ICO contains PNG-encoded icon images for current browsers and modern Windows. Transparent source pixels remain transparent.
- The source image is never uploaded. Re-encoding removes EXIF and other embedded metadata.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- Your files are processed on your device, not uploaded to our servers. Your file and edits are saved in this browser for recovery, and previous documents remain in Saved drafts when you open another file. Use Saved drafts to resume or delete individual copies, or clear this site’s browser data to remove all copies. Browser storage can be cleared or become unavailable; download important work.
- What icon sizes are included?
- By default, the ICO includes 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, and 256 pixel icons. You can remove sizes you do not need.
- Does this change the original image?
- No. It creates a separate ICO file; your original stays unchanged.
- Is this really free, or free "until you hit a limit"?
- Really free. Unlike most "free" PDF sites there is no task-per-day cap, no locked Pro features, no watermark stamped on your file, and no payment step before download. Every tool is the full tool.
