Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. TrulyFreePDF runs entirely in your browser - your file is opened and processed on your own device and is never uploaded, stored, or shared.

Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?

Not pixel-for-pixel. The text, paragraphs, and headings come across as fully editable content, but the exact visual layout is approximated. That is the honest trade-off of any converter that gives you editable text instead of a locked image.

Can it convert a scanned PDF to Word?

Yes - scanned pages are read with on-device OCR first, then converted to editable text. Accuracy depends on the scan quality.

Is this really free, or free "until you hit a limit"?

Really free. Unlike most "free" PDF sites there is no task-per-day cap, no locked Pro features, no watermark stamped on your file, and no payment step before download. Every tool is the full tool.

PDF to Word, free in your browser

You can convert a PDF into an editable Word (.docx) document here in your browser: open the PDF and download a Word file you can keep editing. The text, paragraphs, and headings carry across; the visual layout is approximated rather than reproduced pixel-for-pixel. The file is processed on your own device - never uploaded - with no sign-up.

Limits & good to know

The text, paragraph flow, and headings become an editable Word document; the exact visual layout, columns, and precise positioning are approximated, not reproduced pixel-for-pixel.
Scanned or image-only PDFs are read with on-device OCR first, so accuracy depends on the scan; the recognition engine downloads once on first use.
Complex tables, text boxes, and heavy graphic layouts may simplify or reflow.
Everything runs on your device, so large documents are limited by available memory, not an upload.
A password-protected PDF must be unlocked before converting.
